An Uptime.com Year in Review
2024: The year of customer-driven innovation.
At Uptime.com, 2024 marked a pivotal year of growth and transformation, driven by our unwavering commitment to customer feedback. With over 70 documented releases, we dedicated ourselves to delivering impactful features that enhance every aspect of our platform. From strengthening our infrastructure to refining the look and feel of our Status Pages, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure our platform evolves alongside the needs of our users. This focus extended beyond basic functionality, as we expanded our products and services while implementing significant security enhancements to protect our customers’ data and operations.
2024 Highlights
Page Speed Checks – More Performance, More Visibility
Building on momentum from 2023, the Page Speed Check was a resounding success in 2024. Customers at all levels were given access to this new service. In 2024, Page Speed checks came into their own as a core feature with Uptime.com and a value-add for any customer who wants to know how their site performs. Metrics, along with evaluations, and audit tools gave Uptime.com customers the details needed to improve their site performance and to ensure the best possible experience for their customers. 2024 saw a notable increase in the adoption of Page Speed Checks, which has proven to be a popular service for our customers.
Cloud Status Check Platform – 3rd Party Dependency Monitoring Comes to All
Uptime.com knows that websites, web applications, and e-commerce are driven by an abundance of third-party, cloud-based services. Since these hosting and third-party services are critical to customers, it became paramount to ensure that our customers are able to monitor these providers.
With Cloud Status Checks, Uptime.com customers can now monitor essential cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Azure, and thousands of others. With over 1,800 service providers currently available, this number is set to exceed 2,500 by the end of Q1 2025.
The Secure Vault – Security at the Core
In the third quarter of 2024, the Secure Vault was released, in Beta, to all Uptime.com customers. This enhancement was a game-changer in security and usability. Combining state-of-the-art cryptography with our zero-trust architecture, Uptime.com committed to the safe and secure storage of critical, sensitive data. Knowing that the safe, secure storage of sensitive information is paramount for all customers – the Secure Vault was made available to all Uptime.com customers.
Improved Check Graphing, Metric Visualization, Granularization – Visibility
A great deal of time and effort was put into the visualization and reporting of data in the Uptime.com user interface. This was more than just a facelift on the old look and feel – this was about providing a better experience, the ability to really drill down into the data, and get a clearer understanding of what is happening.
Status Pages now have an improved look and feel, customizable to match your own branding. Your clients will now be able to experience a consistent aesthetic as they move from your internal site to the status pages that you provide. As an added improvement in 2024, your clients can also subscribe to these status pages via webhook and Slack.
Modal Free and Improved Navigation
In our ongoing effort to create a more intuitive and efficient user interface, we’ve made a significant shift: removing modals and transitioning to a sidebar-based navigation system. This change isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about fundamentally improving how users interact with our platform.
Imagine managing an alert in our platform. Previously, you’d be met with a modal window, obscuring the background and forcing you to make decisions in isolation. With the new sidebar design, you can manage that same alert while keeping the context of the broader dashboard fully visible. Need to cross-reference some details? No problem—the information you need remains on-screen.
Expansion of Monitoring Locations World Wide
Starting in January of 2024, the team at Uptime.com rapidly expanded our probe check location presence across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Uptime added new check locations in 15 countries:
